We are a private, not for profit community organization established in 1978
by families of children with special needs.

Our mission is to empower and support families to raise all their children
to reach their full potential.

Our vision is that all individuals are included in their communities to the greatest degree possible.

We encourage special families, professionals, para-professionals, agencies, and our neighbors and friends to join us to make this a reality.

Our purposes are:

·           To insure that each child with special needs is afforded the opportunities necessary to develop his/her full potential

·           To make parents aware of each child’s educational rights and to aid parents in securing these rights

·           To bring together regularly the parents and other concerned persons for an exchange of ideas and sharing of similar concerns

·           To promote an attitude that focuses on what the child with a disability can do and views the child as a person with both abilities and disabilities

·           To educate the general public about disabilities and the needs and right of individuals with disabilities

·           To communicate to legislative bodies to protect the rights of children and adults with disabilities

Please think about making a donation to ASCF

You can help us to help children with disabilities by making your tax deductible donation for any amount you wish. There is a limited amount of grant funding and a great deal of competition, so we are reaching out to individuals to help provide financial support.

Consider making your donation in honor of a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, in memory of a loved one, a thank you to a special person or simply to show your appreciation and support of ASCF. An appropriate card will be sent to those you designate, informing them of your tribute, but not the gift amount. All gifts are acknowledged.

Some companies have a matching gift program in which they will match your personal gift to ASCF, some even double it! Check with your company’s Human Resources department about their policies.  If they have this program, they will give you the appropriate form.  Complete the donor’s section and send the form to ASCF, and we will complete the organization portion.

Thank you for your support.

Checks are made payable to Association for Special Children and Families and mailed to
PO Box 494, Hewitt, NJ 07421
